Conversations for Change with John Lowe

Join the CYP Club in partnership with BREATHE Columbus and Understanding White Privilege & Using Our Voice for Change (UWP) for a series of moderated conversations with advocates and activists from around the central Ohio community on issues of race, equity, privilege and legacy.

As part of our 2021 series 'Conversations for Change' join us for an insightful discussion with John Lowe, CEO of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams.

On May 29, 2020, horrified by the lynching of George Floyd and pervasive systemic racism in our country, John sent an email to several colleagues asking them to co-sign a letter he'd drafted endorsing City Council's Resolution to declare Racism a Public Health Crisis. Within hours, over 750 community leaders added their support, and hundreds more signed on in the days that followed; the resolution was unanimously passed by City Council. You can read the letter here.

Nearly a year later, we'll talk with John about the change he's been a part of and how we sustain momentum in the fight for racial equity and social justice. Although no one can do everything, we can all do something.

Conversations for Change events are always free to attend and are open to everyone. This event will also be streamed live at facebook.com/cypclub/live and available via video afterwards.
