Start your morning with purpose at Coffee with a Cause on Wednesday, February 12th from 7:30-9am at COhatch Westerville. Enjoy complimentary coffee, meaningful connections, and an engaging panel discussion featuring community and nonprofit leaders from across Central Ohio.

This month, our conversation is focused on “Championing Kid Causes in Columbus” featuring a spotlight on youth-focused organizations, early childhood education, foster care, and programs that uplift children in need. This is your chance to connect with like-minded professionals, learn about impactful work in our region, and leave inspired to make a difference. Don’t miss it!

    Michelle Mays is an accomplished author, advocate, and nonprofit leader whose personal journey through the foster care system has fueled her mission to create lasting change. As the author of the acclaimed Dumpster Doll series, her work has earned national recognition, with one of her books being featured on CASA's National recommended reading list. Her writing has contributed to legislative changes on the West Coast, improving protocols for extracting children from dangerous situations. 

    Drawing from her own experiences with foster care, homelessness, and abandonment, Michelle founded FosterHub, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth facing similar challenges with aging out of foster care. As CEO, she is currently spearheading the development of the first wraparound transitional housing and training center in the South Central Appalachian Ohio region, marking a significant milestone in support services for foster youth. This innovative initiative will provide comprehensive resources and support for young people transitioning out of the foster care system. Beyond her professional achievements, Michelle is a devoted wife, mother to three grown sons, and proud grandmother. Her life story exemplifies resilience and transformation, demonstrating how personal struggles can be channeled into meaningful advocacy and systemic change.
