ℹ️ Learn more about each of our featured causes this month below:

  • Mission: We foster hope, happiness, and healing for families raising a child with life-threatening conditions in Central Ohio.

A Kid Again provides cost-free Adventures year-round for families raising a child with a life-threatening condition. Columbus Zoo. Kings Island. COSI. Blue Jackets. These are a few of the many kid-desired destinations where we host Adventures that allow families to spend carefree, quality time together. A study by Nationwide Children’s Hospital found that when families attended multiple Adventures, they improved their social connectedness and mental and physical health.

  • Mission: To increase the number of adoptions of children waiting in North America’s foster care systems so every child will have a permanent and a loving family.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is driven by a single goal: finding a loving family for every child waiting in foster care to get adopted. We are North America’s only national nonprofit charity dedicated solely to finding permanent homes for the more than 130,000 children in foster care.

  • Since 1899, Directions for Youth & Families has provided counseling services and prevention programs to central Ohio. We offer counseling programs that specialize in issues such as sexual abuse/violence, mental and behavioral health, physical abuse/neglect and grief/loss. We operate two after-school/summer youth centers that provide a safe haven during hours when youth are most at risk for self-defeating and delinquent behaviors. These programs include academics, recreational activities as well as music, art and dance. 96% of our services are provided at no cost ensuring services are provided to those who otherwise would not be able to afford them.

Mission: Build and inspire hope, healing, and resilience for youth, families and communities through counseling and education.

  • Mission: Sam’s Fans supports and enhances music and art therapy programs that serve seriously ill children and their families.

In just five years, Sam’s Fans has contributed to music and art therapy programs in five of the seven children’s hospitals in Ohio. That translates to hundreds of hours of music and art therapy for seriously ill children which brings joy and comfort in what can be a very scary and stressful situation. In addition, Sam’s Fans regularly provides musical instruments and art supplies to our partner hospitals to support music and art therapists to do the very best job they can.

  • Mission: To provide opportunities for youth by inspiring action.

Think Make Live Youth started off as a twenty-minute PowerPoint presented by Terry Green for a senior humanities class at The Ohio State University. The organization now offers developmental leadership programs and community service initiatives for youth and young adults between the ages 14-21 years old. Think Make Live Youth provides mentorship, community engagement and leadership development training through monthly empowerment programs and annual community events.

Coffee with a Cause is hosted on the first Wednesday of each month with series support from Key Realty and COhatch!
