Speed Networking & Mead/Wine Tasting Social

  • Brothers Drake Meadery 1025 West 3rd Avenue Columbus, OH, 43212 United States (map)

Discover new connections in Columbus while tasting mead (honey wine) at our upcoming event! Join us on Thursday, April 25 for Speed Networking — an interactive experience at Brothers Drake Meadery in Grandview — where you can build your book of business and enjoy a specialty wine tasting with Ohio Mead Master, Julian Menaged!

This will be a two-hour event that will welcome 60-80 attendees for a curated social experience/mead tasting (5:30-6:30pm) followed by an hour of speed networking (6:30-7:30pm). All guests will enjoy light bites and sample pours of mead wine (including 5 delicious standard meads: Wild Ohio, Ginger Verve, Black Jack, Battle Axe, Apple Pie). After that, you can purchase additional/full drinks at the bar.

What to expect: You’ll have the opportunity to meet up to 80 other young professionals to help build your local business network. But you’ll have to talk fast because once the bell rings, you’ll move to meet a new group, and start all over again. It’s structured, interactive, and a lot of fun.

  • 5:30 – 6:30pm: Check-in and Mead/Wine Tasting (all attendees get 5 sample pours + light bites!)

  • 6:30 – 7:30pm: Speed Networking Activity

What to wear: Coming from work? No need to change clothes! Most people will be in business or business-casual attire.

Cost: The cost to attend is $20 per person (or $30 at the door). Premium members get to attend for $15.

About the venue: Brothers Drake Meadery was established in 2007 in Worthington, Ohio when fewer than 40 meaderies existed in the United States. The origin of their namesake refers to the Drake brothers, Eric and Woody, who were creating mead well before one could readily find home brewing kits. Mead Master, Julian Menaged, joined in 2020 and has led the effort to expand the production into a new location in Grandview Heights.
